Welcome! If you are an ESE Director, Vision Contact, or Teacher of the Visually Impaired looking for the Annual Census, please visit our Student Registration page and click on the “Teachers of the Visually Impaired Login” link.  You may also find this page by navigating to Registration > Student Registration.  If you missed the webinar discussing the Annual Census, you may view the presentation and the recording here.  Remember, the Pre-Census window for Administrators to designate Authorized Users is open until January 1, and the Annual Census may be completed from January 2-February 3, 2020.  If you have any questions regarding the Annual Census, please contact Kathee Cagle at kcagle@fimcvi.org.

If you are a new teacher of the visually impaired in Florida and do not yet have an FIMC-VI ID, please have your ESE Director or their designee fill out our New Teacher Authorization form.  Once this request is processed, you will receive your FIMC-VI ID, which will give you access to student registration, textbook ordering, and APH products ordering.  This form is also available under the Registration tab.

FIMC-VI is a statewide resource center designed to assist schools in obtaining specialized materials for students with visual impairments. Established in 1972 by the Florida Legislature, FIMC-VI operates under the Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services through a grant agreement with the School District of Hillsborough County.

FIMC-VI provides services to students with visual impairments enrolled in Florida’s public and private schools as well as those students that are home schooled as long as they are participating in a “formally organized educational program”.    FIMC-VI also supports all teachers, school administrators, and agency personnel working with Florida’s K-12 students with visual impairments.

There is no charge for any services offered by FIMC-VI. Materials are produced by the Center staff, prepared by certified volunteer transcribers, and/or purchased by the Center. These materials are then loaned to schools within Florida. Outreach, consultation, workshops, webinars, independent modules, student events, and other learning opportunities are offered to families, teachers, and agency personnel throughout the State at no charge.
